Jakarta - The Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) train will begin to be accessible from the Manggarai Station in late February or early March 2019. PT Railink's Managing Director Heru Kuswanto said that he had secured certainty about the readiness of airport train access from Manggarai Station.
"We were confirmed yesterday, that access from Manggarai will be able to start at the end of February or early March. But it is not perfect yet, it can still be one lane first," he told detikFinance when contacted on Thursday (01/10/2019).
Heru said the Soetta airport train operation from Manggarai was still using one lane. Later in May, the new train can use two lines.
Later the Soetta Airport train line, long-distance train and KRL will have their own lanes at Manggarai station. So that the line queue system that often occurs at Manggarai Station can be reduced.
"Indeed, from the service side it will not be too free," he said.
As is known, the operational support infrastructure is not yet optimal as one of the reasons for the low occupancy of Soetta Airport trains. One of them is the operation of the train from Manggarai Station.
To increase airport train occupancy, it also sees opportunities to take access from Depok stations. However, infrastructure limitations make this matter still under review.
"In the direction of the Minister (Budi Karya Sumadi), ask us to open it in Depok," Heru said.
