jpnn.com, JAWA BARAT - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has connected free electricity to 100,970 poor households in West Java through a synergy of 34 SOEs.
This was marked by the provision of a free electricity connection certificate to 30,937 poor households in Garut Regency a few days ago.
This free electricity connection program was previously conducted in the city of Bogor, Kab. Bogor, Kab. Bandung, Kab. Tasikmalaya, Kab. Pangandaran, Kab. Cianjur and Kab. Sukabumi.
SOE Minister Rini Soemarno explained, the free electricity connection program was carried out so that people who were unable to enjoy electricity boosted the economy in West Java.
The 34 SOEs involved in this program are PLN, Bulog, Jamkrindo, Pegadaian, Semen Indonesia, Dahana, Perhutani, BRI, Pindad, Telkom & Telkomsel, BNI, Airnav, Askrindo, Waskita, PTPN III Holding (PTPN VIII).
Then Jasa Marga, Jasa Raharja, Jasindo, Biofarma, KAI, Hutama Karya, Telkomsel, Pertamina, Mandiri, Angkasa Pura II, Pelindo II, BTN, PIHC, WIKA, PP, PGN, Antam, Taspen, ASDP and PT Pos.
"I thank you for the 34 SOEs that have been involved so that the target of connecting electricity to 100,970 households in West Java can be achieved," Rini said.
Based on data from the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K), there are 235,756 poor people in West Java who have not directly connected / enjoyed PLN electricity.
Some of these poor people have enjoyed electricity, but by levering or connecting from their neighbors by paying electricity around Rp. 40,000 - 50,000 per month (Only for the use of light bulbs).
While people who get electricity from PLN only pay around Rp 30 thousand per month.
Furthermore, free electricity connection programs for disadvantaged households will be carried out in other districts in West Java Province. (Chi / jpnn)
