The BUMN Synergy Program Connect Free Electricity Spreads to East Java

01 Feb 2019

MAGETAN - Synergy of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to finance the electricity connection program for Poor Households has now expanded to East Java (East Java) after previously targeting West Java (West Java). BUMN Minister Rini Soemarno symbolized the free electricity connection at Mojopurno Village and Cepoko Village in Magetan.

In both villages, this program has been installed in 24 poor and vulnerable families' homes00, which previously hitched neighboring electricity. The plan, in East Java this program will target as many as 128,098 underprivileged families whose homes have not been connected to PLN electricity. This figure is based on data from the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K).

"With the help of electricity connections through BUMN Synergy to the public, residents will fully enjoy electricity directly from PLN. This certainly helps the community to get full access to electricity and support its household economic activities," Minister Rini said on Friday (1/2/2019 )

Previously, the synergy program of 35 BUMNs had succeeded in establishing free electricity connections for more than 100,000 poor and vulnerable families in West Java. The synergy of BUMN aims to accelerate the program to increase the electrification ratio.

The 35 BUMNs are PLN, BNI, BRI, Pertamina, Bank Mandiri, Telkom, Angkasa Pura II, Pelindo II, BTN, Pupuk Indonesia, Wijaya Karya, PT PP, PGN, Waskita Karya, Pegadaian, PTPN III, Antam, Jasa Marga , Jasa Raharja, Taspen, Airnav, Askrindo. In addition, Jasindo, ASDP Indonesia, Perum Bulog, Jamkrindo, Biofarma, Semen Indonesia, Hutama Karya, Kereta Api Indonesia, Dahana, Perhutani, Pindad, Pos Indonesia and Jiwasraya.

In realizing the program, BUMN agreed to synergize as an effort to ensure the implementation of electricity connection for the poor. The number of underprivileged people chosen to obtain electricity was determined based on data from the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K).
