According to the Managing Director of PT. Angkasa Pura, Muhammad Awaluddin, Soekarno-Hatta is one of the first airports in the world to offer e-scooter services to its passengers. This is to facilitate the mobility of visitors in Terminal 3 which is quite extensive.
"As one of the busiest airports in the world, Terminal 3 is the largest passenger terminal in Indonesia with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year and an area of around 430,000 square meters with a length of 2.4 kilometers. So GrabWheels is the right solution for Soekarno-Hatta Airport , "he said on the official website of Grab, which was quoted on Monday (06/10/2019).
Meanwhile President Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata said he was happy to be working with Angkasa Pura II in presenting his electric scooter.
"We are very pleased to be working with PT Angkasa Pura II to present GrabWheels, the first electric scooter service in Indonesia that is environmentally friendly and can provide new experiences for tourists and visitors in Jakarta," he said
In addition to facilitating the mobilization of airport visitors, GrabWheels services are also said to be able to encourage the domestic tourism industry.
"As everyday super apps, we are constantly looking for technological solutions that can help help improve our partner industry such as tourism. This will help provide global scale services for Jakarta visitors," he added.
For visitors to Soetta Airport Terminal 3 who want to try this service, you can download the GrabWheels beta application through iOS and Android devices during the trial period. Then, they can visit the GrabWheels parking area that has been available at selected locations at Terminal 3 of Soekarno Hatta Airport on domestic arrivals.
After that, users can unlock electric scooters just by scanning the available barcodes using the GrabWheels application to immediately begin their journey. After the user reaches the destination, the GrabWheels application will direct the user to return the electric scooter to the nearest parking lot.
As an initial offer in the trial period, Grab users can use the GrabWheels service for free. In addition to safeguarding the safety of users, Grab will provide education on safe driving behavior through messages directly in the GrabWheels application and users will be required to use helmets as a complete vehicle. During the trial period, Grab will also provide a special team to help users if they experience technical problems. (prf / krs)
