As for the opening of these routes, Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport now serves international flights to and from Malacca (Malaysia), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Subang (Malaysia) and Singapore.

"Through good synergy between aviation industry stakeholders, especially at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport, the Pekanbaru – Subang route can be opened from 9 Agutus 2019.

Achmad Rifai said that the new route is an attractive alternative for domestic and foreign tourists because it connects two well-known tourist destinations in Indonesia.

"Bali is a major tourist destination that is well known throughout the world, while tourism in Banyuwangi is growing rapidly. The existence of the direct flight route Banyuwangi - Denpasar greatly encourages the growth of national tourism, "he said.
