Angkasa Pura II Operates 3 New Airports

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) will formalize the management of three new airports using the utilization cooperation scheme (KSP) on October 13, 2019.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the three additional airports to be managed were HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport in Belitung, Fatmawati Soekarno Airport in Bengkulu, and Radin Inten II Airport in Lampung. Thus, the number of airports managed by the company is 19 airports this year.

"The signing of the cooperation for the utilization of state property along with the minutes of the handover of the operations of the three airports will be carried out at the end of this week," Awaluddin said in a press release, Friday (11/10/2019).

He added last year, the Ministry of Transportation also handed over management of Tjilik Riwut Airport to AP II through the same scheme. This is a form of giving government confidence to the company.

He said he was ready to improve the performance of the four airports so that they could contribute optimally and maximally in supporting tourism and the local economy. The four airports have sufficient land and air infrastructure to develop air transportation connectivity at this time.

Radin Inten II Airport has a new airplane passenger terminal that was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on March 8, 2019. The new terminal covering an area of ​​9,650 meters² emphasizes local culture by displaying the Siger symbol in several areas.

Siger is a symbol of pride that is very attached to the people of Lampung. In addition, this terminal is also built with the concept of eco airport and eco energy.

Meanwhile, this new terminal has a capacity of around 3 million passengers per year, and is supported by a runway measuring 2,500 x 45 meters and an apron measuring 565 x 110 meters for 12 aircraft parking stands. Not only that, this airport also has 3 helipads measuring 24 x 24 meters.

The number of aircraft passengers last year reached 1.99 million passengers, with 16,058 aircraft movements.

HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport is included in the National Tourism Strategic Area, with the nearest tourist destination for this airport being Tanjung Kelayang. The capacity of this passenger terminal is around 400,000 people per year, while the movement of the number of passengers throughout 2018 has reached 1 million people per year.

AP II has plans to expand the terminal at this airport in order to improve services and comfort for airplane passengers and also so that the maximum in supporting local tourism. Meanwhile, the airport is equipped with a runway measuring 2,400 x 45 meters, with the volume of aircraft movements in 2018 recorded 9,534 passengers.

Fatmawati Soekarno Airport has a fairly high growth in passenger numbers. In 2018 aircraft passenger movements will reach 1 million or exceed the terminal's capacity of only 500,000 people per year.

He said he already has plans to develop aircraft passenger terminals to anticipate the movement of 5.6 million passengers. Meanwhile, at the moment Fatmawati Soekarno Airport operates with a runway measuring 2,500 x 45 meters.
