Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Commemorating World Children's Day, PT Angkasa Pura II took Unicef, taking dozens of children to see and feel directly a career in public service in Terminal 3 of Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang City, Wednesday (11/20/2019).

The children who came from Unicef-assisted elementary school, came wearing Scout uniforms. Then they changed to blue shirts with the words 'World Children Days' immediately taking place according to their respective duties.

For Terminal Inspection Service (TIS) staff, a child drives a segway or some kind of otopet, to get around Terminal 3. Together with a TIS officer, Wildan helps facilitate prospective passengers if there are difficulties.

"Earlier, I helped him, then put stickers on it, lots more," Wildan said. He also admitted that he had no trouble riding a segway, even though it took several exercises to drive it.

There is also a duty to be a mobile customer service, where to carry out their duties required to use roller skates, to simplify their duties. Finally there is a duty as a custumer service, to help prospective passengers inform the location of the gate, how to check in, and the position of the aircraft.

According to Febri Toga Simatupang, Senior Manager of the Communication and Legal Branch of Soekarno Hatta Airport, this World Children's Day activity was deliberately carried out by cooperating with Unicef. Also campaigning at the same time, if Soetta Airport is a child-friendly airport.

"It also shows, if in addition to being a pilot or a doctor, becoming an airport operator can also be an alternative to their ideals," Febri said.

Not only today, the cooperation between AP II Soekarno Hatta Airport and Unicef also lasts for the next 1.5 months. By opening a Unicef booth in Terminal 3.

Meanwhile, according to Gregor Henneka as Unicef's Fundrising and Partnership, Terminal 3 was chosen because Unicef realized that the place was an international gate for Indonesia.

"I see from Aceh to Papua, the entrance of Indonesia from here, this airport. So it is appropriate to campaign, if today is World Children's Day, to the people here," he said.
