Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy: Soekarno-Hatta Airport Facilities Same Impressive as Airports in America

17 Jan 2020

TRIBUNNEWS.COM - Soekarno Hatta (Soetta) Airport facilities are no less good even on par with international airports in the United States such as Los Angles International Airport (LAX) and John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in New York.

This was said by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Wishnutama Kusubandio during a Work Visit to Soekarno Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten, Thursday (1/16/2019) night.

"This is amazing, it's good. Even I was surprised, staying at the 'touch up'. I see Soekarno Hatta airport has been very advanced in terms of technology, services and others, although it must be improved again to be compared to Changi. But Soetta is not inferior to international airports in the United States such as LAX or JFK, "he said.

Menparekraf Wishnutama also assessed that every corner and atmosphere at the airport managed by PT Angkasa Pura II had a deep impression for tourists.

"So indeed the airport is the first gate to receive tourist visits, the ambience presented here is very interesting, there are also dances that are presented. Thus providing a positive experience for tourists. The experience is also part of the tour, "he said.

Upon arrival at the international Terminal 3, Wishnutama was welcomed by PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin to immediately check various facilities that highlighted Indonesian culture.

Such as the availability of self-check-in, ease of the immigration process, prospective pilgrims examining places for pilgrims, autogate immigration checkpoints (TPI) to ready-to-drink water facilities in the Boarding Lounge international departures as well as the availability of souvenirs or culinary specialties of Indonesia, to other facilities.

The group was also welcomed by the Kalimantan Dayak dance cultural parade in front of the international T3 Lounge.

Inspection continues with a ride on a skytrain or elevated train, the group headed directly to the Airport Station which will later change its name and function to become an Integrated Building, to listen to the exposure of AP II Managing Director, Muhammad Awaluddin, regarding the plan to change the name and function.

Finally, the Menparekraf headed to the Airport Operating Control Center (AOCC) building, to see other supporting facilities. The AOCC itself functions as a command center to oversee operations on the air side and on the land side and cover all arrivals and departures at the airport.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that his party would change the concept of Soekarno-Hatta Airport into an memorable destination for tourists.

"We want to support the program from the Ministry of Tourism by presenting a national cultural parade every week. He is concerned about airports as a portrait of a city service point. So people can quickly see Indonesia at Soekarno-Hatta Airport as the main gate. Second, concern about airport facilities, "he explained.
