The number of passengers at AP II Airport soars by 146 percent

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) noted that the restoration of flight traffic at the airport it manages will continue in July 2020.

In the period 1-31 July 2020, the cumulative number of passenger movements at 19 airports reached 1.52 million passengers. This number increased to 143 percent compared to June 1-30 2020 of 627,576 passengers.

Meanwhile aircraft movements were recorded at 21,431 movements, up 65 percent from the previous 13,020 movements. The volume of cargo transport also increased by 14 percent from 43.162 million kilograms to 49.076 million kilograms.

Especially at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the number of passengers during July 2020 was recorded at 897,559 passengers. Up 125 percent compared to June 2020 with 398,223 passengers, with aircraft movements rising 68 percent to 12,270 movements.

"The recovery of aviation traffic this year amid the pandemic has been going on since mid-June, in line with the support of regulators through various policies and implementation of strict health protocols at airports and aircraft. So as to maintain public trust in the national aviation sector, "said Director of Operation and Service of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhamad Wasid as quoted in an official statement, Tuesday (4/7/2020).

Wasid added, the utilization of slot time at the company's airports has also increased by 30 percent in July 2020. For example, Soekarno-Hatta has reached 32 percent.

"In August, we estimate that the number of passengers, aircraft movement and flight slot time utilization will increase. As an illustration, today, Monday 3 August 2020, the number of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta has reached 37 thousand passengers with 400 flights. Where is this figure high enough for the beginning of the week, especially after the long weekend on July 31 - August 1, "explained Muhamad Wasid.
