Apart from restoring flight activities, the facility is also scheduled to be operated soon to increase regional competitiveness.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the new facilities were expected to increase traffic to other airports in the country.
"In the midst of the global Covid-19 pandemic which presents a great challenge, PT Angkasa Pura II and stakeholders at Soekarno Hatta are still trying to present new facilities to encourage economic recovery, especially through the expansion of the air transportation sector," Awaluddin said through a media broadcast, Tuesday (11/8). / 2020).
The 3 new facilities that will soon be operated at Soekarno-Hatta Airport include:
1. The first commercial heliport in Indonesia The first facility to be operated at Soekarno Hatta Airport is the heliport. Haliport will be managed by Whitskey Aviation and fully operational on 23 August 2020. Heliport has 7 parking stands for helicopters.
The exact location of this heliport is located on Jalan Perimeter Selatan, or occupies an area of 2.7 hectares. The existence of this heliport can be an alternative transportation using a helicopter for travelers from Jakarta or various other cities to get to Soekarno-Hatta quickly, or vice versa.
"The existence of Heliport will clearly increase Soekarno Hatta's competitiveness at the regional level. Soekarno-Hatta is able to present a more complete flight facility, ”explained Awaluddin.
Meanwhile, CEO of Whitesky Aviation Denon B. Prawiraatmadja said that Soekarno Hatta Heliport will be connected to 171 helipads in Jakarta. “Whiteskey services include Helicity for transportation and Helimedivac for medical purposes. 2. 4 Star Hotel Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta which will begin to open hotel services with 4 star facilities, which will be the only 4 star hotel in the airport area.
The hotel with 7 floors and equipped with 147 rooms is planned to start a soft opening in the near future. The management of this hotel will be carried out by PT Angkasa Pura Propertindo (APP), which is a subsidiary of PT Angkasa Pura II.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Propertindo Agung Sedayu said, the hotel consists of various types of rooms, including deluxe, deluxe disabled, junior suite, executive suite and deluxe suite.
"We are currently looking for global hotel operator partners to manage this 4-star hotel for up to 20 years. The hotel management cooperation offer is also made through the Investment Coordinating Board [BKPM], "he said.
3. Steel structure parking building
Furthermore, there is also a steel-structured parking building as an effort to facilitate access to motorbikes at Transit Oriented Development (TOD) which is located on the back side of the airport or close to Jalan M1.
This parking building will later be able to accommodate thousands of motorbikes, complementing the existing parking area with a capacity of thousands of motorbikes. Another facility at this TOD is a free shuttle bus to take you to a number of points in the airport area.
Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Agus Haryadi said, easy access to and from Soekarno Hatta is one of the things that has become a focus for making it easier for travelers or visitors on motorbikes.
"Through this special parking building for motorbikes, every traveler or airport visitor by motorbike can easily reach Soekarno Hatta via the TOD in the area behind the airport," he said.
