Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 Wins the Best Airport Award 2018

Jakarta - Terminal 3 of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport won the award as the Best Airport version of Majalah Bandara on Friday, December 7, 2018. The award was given directly by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in Jakarta.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport set aside 103 airports (105 Terminals), consisting of 13 Angkasa Pura I airports, 15 Angkasa Pura II airports, and 75 airports Airport I (II), III and Special Airport Service Units serving Aviation Pioneer.

Specifically the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK), is considered separate for each of its terminals, considering the large number of passenger movements. Based on the overall results, the Jury appointed 20 airports that won the 2018 Airport Award including Terminal 3 of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Pura II Figures President Director, Muhammad Awaluddin stated, "Although the Best Airport predicate has been achieved by T3, but the improvement in service facilities and infrastructure will continue to be made."

Increased infrastructure and service facilities continue to be carried out, especially at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, some of which are Revitalization of Terminal 1 & Terminal 2, Construction of the third cross-taxiway and third runway to increase capacity on the air side and also on the land side.

In the future, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport carries the concept of the Smart Connected Airport where later the terminals will be equipped with a number of State of the Art Technology facilities which include the concepts of Smart Mobility, Smart Security and Smart Environment. For the facility concept Smart Mobility will increase the Airport Digital Journey Experience from passengers such as automation from the Skytrain where later in 2019 will be driverless and the increase in headway to only 5 minutes, implementation of self check-in counters, self-baggage drop, self boarding gate , the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) and other facilities where the flow of processes for passengers at the airport can be carried out independently.

From the operational side, the full operation of the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) with the Airport Collaboration Decision Making (ACDM) concept as a forum for coordination between airport stakeholders increases the effectiveness and efficiency of airport operations and the use of X-Ray Full Body Scanners are several facilities with the Smart Security concept which will later be present at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

While for the Smart Environment concept will carry the concept of Ecogreen Airport with the Intelligent Building Management System (IBMS), the use of electric buses and the use of solar panels that support the use of new and renewable energy. The Smart Connected Airport concept is in line with the Industry 4.0 concept launched by the government that carries automation as well as the Internet of Things (IoT).
