PT Angkasa Pura II Supports the Development of MSMEs by Opening a Coffee Shop in Terminal 3

22 Jan 2018

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) supports the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by welcoming the opening of a local coffee shop built by NA Coffee at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Friday (1/19). The coffee shop that was pioneered by young people from Aceh was under the guidance of Dr. Iskandarsyah Madjid from the UMKM Trustees at the Syiah Kuala Aceh University.

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) 's Director of Finance Andra Y Agussalam said that the support for MSMEs was aimed at offsetting the dominance of foreign coffee shops, especially those at the companies' airports. "We brought NA Coffee specifically to be able to entrepreneurship, given the lack of a number of local coffee shops at the airport," said Andra.

Besides that, continued Andra, the opening of this shop was a manifestation of healthy competition by creative youth of the nation to compete with existing foreign coffee shops first. "Coffee shops are the right choice for businesses, given the increasing mushrooming of local coffee businesses that taste no less than foreign coffee. And we support the nation's efforts to introduce Indonesia through different coffee flavors from each region, "explained Andra.

As the manager of 14 airports in Indonesia, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) will continue to bring in local coffee shops to open outlets in the airport terminal. Like a coffee shop that is quite phenomenal and has been running for almost a year at Kualanamu Deli Serdang International Airport, the Kok Tong coffee shop. This coffee shop does not lose its sales with well-known foreign coffee shops.

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) President Commissioner Rhenald Kasali said that the AP II step was an effective way to lift local potential and develop MSMEs without having to carry out counseling or business seminars. Besides that, continued Rhenald, this was AP II's concern for MSMEs. "I was given a direction by President Joko Widodo to provide the widest possible space for the community to develop a people's economy. Therefore, this activity is our concern to run the president's direction," he concluded.
