PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Serves 70 Million Passengers in the Jabodetabek Area

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) throughout 2017 has served 70 million passengers in two Jabodetabek airports, namely Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport. Where each airport serves 63 million passengers and 7 million passengers.

Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin revealed that the achievement of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport serving 63 million passengers was an extraordinary achievement. "Because of the total approximately 50 million Jabodetabek residents, we can serve not only at our main Soekarno-Hatta airport, but also at Halim Perdanakusuma airport which reaches 7 million passengers," Awaluddin explained.

As for that number, it consisted of 14.718 million passengers on the international route and 48.295 million passengers on the domestic route.

The achievement, Awaluddin continued was inseparable from the hard work of Angkasa Pura II personnel who are committed to continue to improve services at AP II airports where visitors and airport service users occupy the highest position to get the best service. "This encourages us to continue to innovate and improve the facilities at our airport. Such as the presence of elevated trains at Soekarno-Hatta Airport to serve passenger transfers between terminals, "Awaluddin said.


Meanwhile, the holding of Christmas and New Year Transportation that took place from December 22, 2017 to January 8, 2018 at airports managed by Angkasa Pura II went well. The number of airplane passengers in 13 Angkasa Pura II airports recorded a 9% increase, from 6.7 million passengers to 7.3 million passengers. While aircraft movements increased by 8% or from 47,700 movements to 51,600 aircraft movements.

The peak flow of the Nataru holiday occurred on December 22, 2017 with the number of passenger movements 371,400 and the peak of the backflow of the Nataru holiday on January 2, 2018 with the number of movements 334,525. Top 5 destinations in transportation of Christmas and New Year 2017 for domestic are Denpasar, Surabaya, Kualanamu, Makassar, and Yogyakarta, and for international destinations are Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jeddah, Hong Kong and also Bangkok. For the 3 airports that have the largest growth in 2017 Christmas and New Year Transportation, Silangit Airport is 50%, Tanjung Pinang is 45% and Pontianak Airport is 25%.

Awaluddin expressed his gratitude to all parties who helped implement Nataru 2017/2018 transportation so that it could run smoothly in all AP II airports. "We hope that in the next Christmas and New Year holiday season we can continue to provide the best service to the entire community," Awaluddin said.

During Christmas 2017 and New Year 2018 transportation, the highest number of passengers is at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport reaching 4.26 million passengers, then Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang, as many as 740,500 passengers, then Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport with 482,500 passengers.
