Striving for Cheap Tickets, Angkasa Pura II Supports Providing Incentives to Airlines

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is committed to providing airport service incentives to ease airline operating costs where Angkasa Pura II (AP II) is part of the main aviation industry stakeholders who provide incentive support along with Angkasa Pura I, Pertamina, Airnav Indonesia and their LCC airline, after being agreed at a follow-up coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy yesterday (July 1, 2019).

Incentives are given until December 2019 and it is possible to be re-evaluated so that low-cost carrier (LCC) airline tickets can be reduced by up to 50% of the upper limit rates on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, at 10:00 to 14:00 West Indonesia Time where this is in accordance with the results of a meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Economy on Monday July 1 2019.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the incentives provided had a direct impact on reducing airline operating costs.

"This incentive concept is an operation incentive that will indeed directly reduce airline operating costs so we hope that LCC flight ticket rates will also be more affordable," Muhammad Awaluddin said.

The incentive given at certain hours, namely at 10:00 to 14:00 West Indonesia Time, aims to make flight schedules evenly distributed throughout the airport's operational hours so that the use of flight slots at each airport becomes more effective and efficient.

"Providing incentives at certain hours is so that flights do not pile up only at golden time in the morning and evening, thus airline and airport operations can more optimally increase the utilization of production equipment in serving the public."

This operation incentive is the second incentive which is an aircraft service incentive in the airport, which is the landing service and aircraft placement provided by AP II to the airline after the company previously offered marketing incentives to the airlines that are still given AP II to date, namely New Route Incentives, New Airlines Entrance Incentives, Red Eye Incentives and Unschedule Flight Incentives with cash back method.

AP II hopes that airlines can utilize or combine marketing incentives and operation incentives so that operational costs can be reduced so that flight ticket prices are more affordable.
