Regarding Smoke Haze, Angkasa Pura II Appeals Aircraft Passengers Monitor Current Flight Status

15 Sep 2019

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) appealed to aircraft passengers to pay attention to the latest information related to flight status following the presence of smoke that could potentially disrupt flight visibility.

Information about the latest flight status can be known from the airline that operates the flight.

Angkasa Pura II VP of Corporate Communications Yado Yarismano said that Angkasa Pura II airports are currently operating, but taking into account the safety factor, some flights have been canceled.

So far Lion Air Group has informed the cancellation of 20 flights, of which there are also flight routes at Angkasa Pura II airports located in Sumatra (Kualanamu, Jambi, Pekanbaru) and Kalimantan (Palangkaraya).

Yado Yarismano said that Angkasa Pura II personnel throughout the airport will prepare everything for the convenience of passengers at the terminal, especially for passengers affected by delays or flight cancellations due to smoke.

"Angkasa Pura II is intensely coordinating with related parties such as AirNav Indonesia, BMKG and airlines related to flight operations. The main factor is flight safety and security. The latest information will always be conveyed to the public and also passengers of the aircraft. "

"Angkasa Pura II Airport in Kalimantan, Sumatra, Bangka Belitung and Riau Islands are still operating, but we still urge that airplane passengers pay attention to the latest information from the airline regarding flight status," explained Yado Yarismano.

In Sumatra, Angkasa Pura II manages Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport (Aceh), Kualanamu (Deli Serdang), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru), Minangkabau (Padang), Sultan Thaha (Jambi), Silangit (Siborong-borong) and Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang).

Meanwhile in Kalimantan, Angkasa Pura II manages Supadio Airport (Pontianak) and Tjilik Riwut (Palangkaraya). In Bangka Belitung, Angkasa Pura II manages Depati Amir Airport (Pangkal Pinang) and in the Riau Islands there is Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport (Tanjung Pinang).
