Transportation for Lebaran Homecoming by Airplane is a Choice Because of These Three Factors

30 Apr 2022

AP II Airport passed the peak of the homecoming flow on April 29 well, the movement of passengers from D-10 to D-3 reached 1.48 million people

Jakarta - Lebaran 2022 transportation, especially during the homecoming period at PT Angkasa Pura II airports, is going well

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the smooth operation of Angleb 2022 at AP II airport was supported by close collaboration between stakeholders, including travelers who planned their trip from the start or not close to Eid.

In addition, continued Muhammad Awaluddin, the air transportation mode has three advantages in accommodating high demand such as during the Eid transportation period.

"At a time when public demand is high for traveling, air transportation has three advantages to meet these needs, so we are grateful that the Eid 2022 transportation period, especially during the homecoming flow, can run well at AP II airports including Soekarno-Hatta Airport which is the largest airport in Indonesia. Indonesia."

"The three advantages of air transportation can help make it easier for travelers to travel back to their hometowns to celebrate Eid with their families," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

The first advantage of air transportation in meeting the high demand is flexibility.

“Air transportation has flexibility, where prospective passengers can choose the date and time of departure and the airline that suits their needs. If the desired departure date and time are no longer available, then another time allocation can be chosen," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Then, the second advantage is that air transportation has a capacity that can be adjusted according to demand.

"If demand is high, AP II as the airport operator will coordinate with airlines and ground handling and other related parties to increase flight seat capacity through the extra flight mechanism (additional flights), flight time slot arrangements, airport operating hours extension, and so on," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Meanwhile, the third advantage of air transportation is the breadth of flight connectivity.

“Air transportation connects every province in Indonesia. By air, we can travel from one city to another in a short time. In an archipelagic country like Indonesia, air transportation is the most efficient and effective mode," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

These three advantages also make air transportation an option for travelers to travel on Eid transportation in 2022.

Therefore, PT. Angkasa Pura II urges the public to take advantage of the option of using air transportation during the Lebaran homecoming period and of course also during the return flow later.

Peak commuting
Meanwhile, AP II airports in the 2022 Eid transportation have passed the peak of the homecoming flow smoothly.

The peak of the homecoming flow at 20 AP II airports occurred on April 29, 2022 (D-3) with a cumulative number of aircraft passenger movements reaching 218,657 people and a flight frequency of 1,649 flights.

Especially at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the number of peak passenger movements for homecoming on D-3 was recorded at 141,347 people and the flight frequency was 1,052 flights.

In total, during D-10 to D-3 (April 22-April 29) the cumulative number of passenger movements at 20 AP II airports was recorded at 1.48 million people.

"People have followed the government's recommendation to go home from the start or not close on Eid day so that the distribution of homecoming travels goes well, and we thank the community. This also causes the peak of the homecoming flow to arrive earlier, namely on April 29, where previously we estimated it would be on April 30, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Regarding flight seat capacity, AP II has received as many as 670 requests for extra flights from various airlines for the period 22 April - 10 May 2022. This extra flight is to accommodate the high demand for prospective passengers during this Lebaran homecoming period.

Meanwhile, the top 5 destinations in Angleb 2022, especially the homecoming flow on April 22 - April 29 from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, are to Medan, Bali, Makassar, Surabaya and Pontianak.
