AP II Airport presents a variety of thematic events and decorations with Chinese New Year nuances
Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II airports today, Sunday 22 January 2022, are preparing thematic decorations and holding various events to welcome the Chinese New Year 2574 Kongzili.
These various events are expected to entertain passengers as well as enliven the Chinese New Year at AP II airports.
AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said AP II airports always held various thematic events and decorations in welcoming the holidays set by the government.
"Various thematic activities and decorations related to holidays at AP II airports as a form of service to airplane passengers and airport visitors to present a good passenger experience, as well as to strengthen our joint efforts in caring for diversity," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
At Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport (Palembang), airplane passengers and airport visitors were entertained by lion dance attractions which were held at a number of points including the curb side of the aircraft passenger terminal, the check-in area and the boarding lounge area.
"Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport presents a lion dance show complete with accompanying musical instruments, to entertain airplane passengers who want to depart or have just arrived from outside the city. We hope that the Chinese New Year atmosphere will be even more lively with this event," said Executive General Manager of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport R. Iwan Wanaya.
Meanwhile, Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Banten), which is the largest airport in Indonesia, displays various Chinese New Year decorations and ornaments in Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
The Chinese New Year nuance at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is strengthened by the presence of large gate ornaments and Chinese New Year nuances which can be used as photo spots for airplane passengers and airport visitors. Besides that, decorative lanterns also adorn the curb side area towards Plaza Terminal 3.
"We hope that the Chinese New Year decorations at Soekarno-Hatta Airport can provide a good passenger experience for aircraft passengers when traveling amid increasing flight traffic this long weekend," explained Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Dwi Ananda Wicaksana.
As for today, coinciding with the Chinese New Year, January 22 2023, the number of passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is estimated to have reached 102,894 passengers with 823 flights.
Passengers going through Terminal 1 are estimated at 19,792 passengers, then Terminal 2 as many as 32,401 passengers and Terminal 3 reaching 50,701 passengers.
Various events and thematic decorations with the nuances of Chinese New Year are also presented at other AP II airports, such as at Supadio Airport (Pontianak).
Airplane passengers and visitors at Supadio Airport today receive free gifts in the form of basket cakes and oranges. As is known, basket cakes and citrus fruits are synonymous with Chinese New Year.
